HC Deb 12 June 1894 vol 25 c923
SIR. TEMPLE (Surrey, Kingston)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies if the Government will consider the desirability of appointing, to act in conjunction with the Earl of Jersey at the Conference of Colonial Governments, to be held on the 21st of June at Ottawa, a delegate, having no Colonial connections, specially to represent the interests of the United Kingdom?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. S. BUXTON,) Tower Hamlets, Poplar

Lord Jersey will represent Her Majesty's Government on the Intercolonial Conference, and they have full confidence that in any part which he may be called upon to take in the proceedings of the Conference he will not overlook British interests.
