HC Deb 04 June 1894 vol 25 c286
SIR H. ROSCOE (Manchester, S.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any information has been received at the Foreign Office, from Constantinople or elsewhere, to the effect that an outbreak of cholera has occurred at Mecca; and whether, if so, steps will be taken to urge the Porte to carry out the recommendations of the Sanitary Congress as to preventive and repressive measures?

SIR E. GREY

It was reported on the 2nd instant that, according to the latest telegraphic advices from Mecca, the public health there was good. The Porte was represented at the Sanitary Congress, but its Delegates did not sign the recommendations.
