O'CONNOR (Donegal, E.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been directed to the decision of the Strabane Board of Guardians, at their meeting on Tuesday last, not to proceed with the building of 12 houses in the Urney divisions, with regard to which the Local Government Board had already empowed their Inspector to proceed; and whether the Local Government Board will now take steps to secure the erection of suitable habitations in accordance with their previous decision?
MR. J. MORLEYThe Guardians of this Union having decided not to build the labourers' cottages, the Local Government Board have instructed their Inspector to take action under the Order which they have issued in pursuance of the 8th section of the Labourers Act of 1891.
