CHANNING (Northampton, E.)I beg to ask the Parliamentary Charity Commissioner why no reply has been given by the Charity Commission to repeated inquiries from the Trades Council of Kettering and other interested parties as to the decision taken by the Commissioners on the Report of the inquiry into the Kettering Charities; whether any decision as to the said charities has yet been come to; and whether the Charity Commissioners will give sufficient notice to the several parties interested before taking final action as to the future application of any of the funds in question, or as to the appointment of new trustees?

STEVENSON,) Suffolk, EyeThe Commissioners, after the local inquiry held by their Assistant Commissioner, found it necessary to make further investigations and inquiries respecting some of the charities proposed to be dealt with in order to ascertain the exact nature of their powers, and the Trades Council were so informed. Considerable delay ensued in the supply of further information, and the Commissioners are not yet in a position to proceed with the establishment of a scheme. The matter is, however, under immediate consideration, and the Commissioners hope to come to a decision very shortly. Full notice will be published of any proposed scheme or appointment of trustees.
