I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board when the Local Government Board intend to issue Rules framed under Section 48 of "The Local Government Act, 1894," in relation to the elections of Parish and District Councillors, according to Sections 3 and 23 of that Act?

The preparation of the Rules referred to is being proceeded with, but I am not at present in a position to state how soon they will be ready for issue.

When does the right hon. Gentleman think the Parish Councils Act will come into operation?

The Parish Councils Act will come into operation between the 10th and 17th of December.
