MOLLOY (King's Co., Birr)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if his attention has been drawn to the conduct of certain officers in Birr Barracks upon a recent occasion, and the reported attack made by them upon the female servants of another officer; and what steps have been taken to investigate the charges made?
MR. J. MORLEYI have received a Report of the alleged occurrences referred to. Seven summonses have been issued in connection with this matter, and the case will be investigated by the Magistrates at Petty Sessions to-morrow.
