ASHMEAD-BARTLETT)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give the House any information as to the negotiations with France regarding the Congo Treaty of 12th May, and as to the position of the French Forces in the Upper Congo Districts and the Equatorial Provinces?
§ SIR E. GREYI cannot at the present stage make any statement as to the negotiations with France. We have heard of no movement of the French force in the Upper Congo District, and there have not been any in the Equatorial Provinces?
