HC Deb 12 January 1894 vol 20 cc1453-4
MR. GIBSON BOWLES

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether, before finally deciding on a new Naval Shipbuilding Programme, Her Majesty's Government propose to consider, by submitting them either to a Departmental Committee or to a Select Committee of this House, or otherwise, the questions that have arisen as to the suitability for their purposes of the present types of battleships, in respect, of size and seaworthiness?

SIR C. KAY-SHUTTLEWORTH

No, Sir; there is no such intention.
