HC Deb 09 January 1894 vol 20 c1154
MR. HARRY FOSTER

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether, in preparing the new Local Government Registration Bill for bringing into existence the new Register under the Parish Councils Bill, he will consider the practicability of embodying therein provisions for the return of the County Council electors, and of repealing those portions of "The County Electors Act, 1888," which deal with the Parliamentary Register, so that the starred voters may disappear from the Parliamentary Register, and the power vested in Revising Barristers under the Registration Act of 1885 may be restored?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. H. H. FOWLER,) Wolverhampton, E.

The Bill is simply one for the acceleration of the Register, and at present the Government have no intention it should deal with anything else.
