HC Deb 08 January 1894 vol 20 c1012
MR. GRIFFITH - BOSCAWEN (Kent, Tunbridge)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any successor has been appointed to Judge Homersham Cox, who resigned the County Court Judgeship of Circuit 48, which includes Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Dartford, &c, early last October; and, if not, if he can state the cause of the delay?

MR. ASQUITH

The Lord Chancellor has taken the opportunity, on vacancies occurring in the Court referred to and other Courts south of London, to re-arrange the districts and to reduce the number of Judges. Other arrangements, I understand, are also in progress for which these vacancies have afforded opportunity. The business of the Courts has been fully provided for during the interval.
