HC Deb 04 January 1894 vol 20 cc811-2
MR. HAMMOND (Carlow)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General if he is aware that, at the Revision Session held in Tullow, County Carlow, in October, the Chairman commented strongly on the conduct of the local postmaster, of whom it had been proved in evidence that delivery of registered letters of objection, addressed to certain Nationalist electors in Tullow, personally known to him, had by his orders been withheld; and if the Postmaster General would cause inquiry to be made into all the circumstances the case?

MR. A. MORLEY

As I promised the hon. Member, in reply to the question put by him on the 14th December, the matter is now being thoroughly investigated. There has not yet been time to complete the inquiry, but I have given directions to expedite it as much as possible.
