HC Deb 04 January 1894 vol 20 c824
MR. MACDONALD (Tower Hamlets, Bow)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury what is the whole sum that the Duke of Saxe-Coburg has received by way of annuity from the British Treasury, and what by way of pay and allowances?

THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Sir J. T. HIBBERT,) Oldham

The annuity payable to His Royal Highness was £25,000 a year—namely, £15,000 granted in 1866 and £10,000 in 1873. If my hon. Friend refers to Parliamentary Paper No. 328 of 1893 he will see that the payments to the Duke from Navy Votes in the year 1892–3 for pay and allowances were £3,130 11s. I am sorry that I am not in a position to give any further information as to pay and allowances.
