HC Deb 01 January 1894 vol 20 cc541-2
MR. YERBURGH

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he has yet had the opportunity of reading the Report of the Lords Committee on the marking of Foreign Meat, and the evidence upon which the said Report is based; and, if so, whether he will undertake to introduce a Bill in the next, Session of Parliament to carry out the recommendations of the said Committee?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. MUNDELLA,) Sheffield, Brightside

I have considered the Report referred to, but I am not able to make any statement at present as to the legislation of next Session.

MR. YERBURGH

Will the right hon. Gentleman use his influence with the Government to induce them to bring in a Bill to carry out the recommendations of the Committee.

MR. MUNDELLA

I cannot make such a promise when so many questions are pressing for attention.
