HC Deb 20 February 1894 vol 21 cc836-7
MR. HOLLAND (Salford, N.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India whether he has yet received any information in regard to the rumoured intention of the Indian Government to recommend the reimposition of Import Duties on cotton goods going into India?

*MR. GEORGE RUSSELL

I am afraid that I must repeat the answer I have given already more than once to similar questions—namely, that, even if the financial policy for the coming year were decided, it would be impossible for me to give any information in anticipation of the Financial Statement in India.
