HC Deb 19 February 1894 vol 21 c711
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty why the gunboat Jackal is so frequently anchored at Invergordon, instead of attending to the duty of protecting the fishing grounds round the coast from the depredations of steam trawlers?

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Sir U. KAY-SHUTTLE-WORTH,) Lancashire, Clitheroe

The movements of the Jackal are not regulated by the Admiralty, but by the requests of the Scotch Fishery Board.
