COLONEL NOLANsaid, that in Ireland if lunatics were dangerous they were sent to the county asylums, and if they were not dangerous they were sent to the workhouses, where they gave a great deal of trouble and were badly treated, owing to the want of proper accommodation. He thought there ought to be a reorganisation of the whole system of treating lunatics in Ireland; and that no lunatics 78 should be sent to the small workhouses of the country districts.
