I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether he is now prepared to state if any provision will be made for the widow of Bulwant Rao Bute, who was murdered under circumstances of great brutality within British jurisdiction in the Gwalior State by Asad Jar Khan, the Superintendent of Police of the Indore State, and two of his subordinates, with the assistance of other persons?

The Government of India were asked in a letter by the last mail to state whether any steps have been taken to obtain compensation for the widow of Bulwant Rao. As soon as an answer is received, I will let the hon. Member know.
