HC Deb 02 August 1894 vol 27 cc1569-70
MR. PAUL (Edinburgh, S.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to a recent correspondence in The Scotsman, complaining that the Forth at Cruickness and other places is contaminated by mud brought from Grangemouth in boats; and whether the Board has any power to prevent what is described in the correspondence as a public nuisance; and, if so, whether that power will be used?

MR. BRYCE

This matter has been engaging my attention for some little time, and I have been in communication with the Harbour Authority respecting it; but as I cannot at present give a full answer, I will ask my hon. Friend to defer his question for some days.
