HC Deb 02 April 1894 vol 22 c1106
MR. BARROW (Southwark, Bermondsey)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been drawn to the Report of Dr. Waldo On the deplorable conditions under which a large proportion of the bakery business is being carried on in London; and whether the Local Authorities are impotent under the present law to enforce sanitary remedies; and, if so, will further legislation be introduced at the earliest possible opportunity to effect the object?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. ASQUITH, Fife, E.)

I have communicated with the authorities on the subject, and will, as soon as I get an answer, inform my hon. Friend of the result.
