HC Deb 15 September 1893 vol 17 c1288
MR. MANDEVILLE (Tipperary, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland is there anything in the Rules regarding vested schools under the National Board in Ireland to prevent their being used as circulating libraries on Sundays?

MR. J. MORLEY

I am informed by the Commissioners of National Education that under the Rules referred to they could not permit the use of vested national schools as circulating libraries, as such libraries are not intended exclusively for the education of the children attending national schools—a requirement which is enjoined by the Rules.
