HC Deb 24 November 1893 vol 18 cc1691-2
MR. ARNOLD-FORSTER (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty what number of men would be available for the Service of the Royal Navy in time of war; how many men would be required to man existing ships and for other purposes; and what reserve of men would remain to supply the casualties of war?

SIR U. KAY-SHUTTLEWORTH

My hon. Friend will find on pages 6 to 13 of the Navy Estimates the numbers available for the Royal Navy in time of war. It is not desirable, in the interests the Public Service, to give the further tails asked in the question.
