I beg to ask the Chairman of the Committee on Public Petitions how many Petitions have been presented from India during the present Session in favour of holding simultaneous examinations for the Indian Civil Service, and how many against them; what is the total number of signatures on either side; and how many Petitions were signed by chairmen of public meetings, on behalf of the meetings?

The total number of Petitions presented in favour of holding simultaneous examinations for the Indian Civil Service is 44, containing 20,232 signatures. The number against is one, containing one signature, that of a chairman of a public meeting. The number of Petitions signed by chairmen of public meetings in favour is 17.
