CREMERI beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he is aware that the recent Order compelling postmen to work with their tunic buttoned at the top is regarded with dissatisfaction; and whether he will give instructions that postmen who have to climb stairs and carry loads shall during the summer months be exempt from such Order?
§ MR. A. MORLEYI am not aware of any dissatisfaction cruised by the Regulation referred to in the question, and I am not prepared to relax the Regulation, which is intended to prevent a practice which led to a slovenly appearance on the part of the postmen. In the summer the men wear lighter tunics.
