As nearly as I can state them, the amounts of the Succession and Estate Duties paid by land and real property, including houses, for 1892–3 was £1,245,000 (Succession Duty, £1,166,000; Estate Duty, £79,000). Of this sum, about £1,020,000 falls to the share of England, about £100,000 to Ireland, and about £120,000 to Scotland.
