HC Deb 04 May 1893 vol 12 cc66-7
DR. MACGREGOR (Inverness-shire)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India if he will lay before the House a Despatch signed by General Wilson, then Military Member of the Council of the Governor General of India, sent to the Secretary of State for India about the year 1880 or 1881, recommending the grant of the staff allowance or medical officers in charge of hospitals of Her Majesty's troops in India, with the reply thereto of the Secretary of State for India; and also the Memorials of the brigade surgeons in India to the Secretary of State for India in 1886, asking to have extra pay given on account of the onerous duties they had to perform, with the reply of the Secretary of State thereto?

*MR. G. RUSSELL

The question of the pay of the Medical Staff in India is now under the consideration of the Secretary of State in Council, and it would not be desirable to present the Papers relating to this subject in an incomplete state.
