§ MR. A. C. MORTON (Peterborough)I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether it is correct that a fever hospital is proposed to be built on the grounds adjoining Linlithgow Palace; and, if so, will he take steps to prevent the proposal being carried out?
§ THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir G. TREVELYAN,) Glasgow, BridgetonI have to state that the site proposed but not yet acquired for the hospital referred to in the hon. Member's question is on the north-east side of Linlithgow Loch, and is distant, I am informed, not less than 400 yards from the nearest point of the Palace grounds. I regret to say that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find sites for hospitals; but, if this site is resolved on, it must come before the Board of Supervision for approval, and, as is always the case, any objections will then be considered.
