§ MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether his attention has been called to the dissatisfaction which exists throughout the Highlands and Islands, particularly in Ross and Cromarty, in consequence of the prosecutions for alleged breaches of the Game Laws; and whether the Government see their way to promote legislation for abolishing or amending the Game Laws?
§ THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. J. B. BALFOUR,) Clackmannan, &c.I have heard of complaints in regard to some individual cases of prosecutions under the Game Laws, but I have not had my attention called to the existence of general dissatisfaction on this subject throughout the Highlands and Islands, or in Ross and Cromarty particularly. The Government have not considered as to promoting legislation on this subject.
