§ MR. MAGUIRE (Clare, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state the reasons why the Evicted Tenants Commission refused to consider the case of Mr. Patrick Kelly, Coore, County Clare, an evicted tenant?
MR. J. MORLEYWhile I am not directly responsible for the acts of the Evicted Tenants Commission, to which the hon. Member refers, I may say I understand they decided that the cases of tenants not resident in Ireland did not come within the scope of the inquiry, and that in this particular case the tenant was resident in America, and they were, therefore, unable to deal with his case.
