§ SIR THOMAS ESMONDE (Kerry, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that five of the fishermen who were fined for fishing in the Cloghane and Owenmore Rivers, in county Kerry, have been sent to gaol in consequence of their inability to pay the fines and costs imposed upon them; and, whether, in view of their poverty, and also of the exceptional nature of their case, the authorities will consent to their speedy release?
