HC Deb 10 March 1893 vol 9 c1590
MR. KILBRIDE (Kerry, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will state if any member of the Congested Districts Board has visited South Kerry; and, if so, when; and whether, considering the requirements of the district, and the wealth of the fish off the coast there, they intend to take any steps towards the erection of piers and boatslips, with the view of developing the fishing industry with some degree of safety to the lives and property of the fishermen?

MR. J. MORLEY

I am informed that South Kerry has been visited by members of the Congested Districts Board, and that two of the Board's Inspectors have also been employed for some months in making inquiries there for the information of the Board. It is in contemplation to improve the harbour accommodation on the coast, but no decision has yet been come to as to the places where piers or boatslips are to be constructed.
