HC Deb 10 March 1893 vol 9 c1621
MR. BARTLEY (Islington, N.)

I wish to ask the right hon. Gentleman the First Lord of the Treasury whether, in the event of a Saturday Sitting, the Debate under the Standing Order will end at 12 o'clock; and whether he will undertake not to suspend the Standing Order, so that hon. Members may not go on into Sunday with the Estimates?

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

There is no question of suspending the Twelve o'clock Rule.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR: Perhaps

it would be convenient if I were to ask the right hon. Gentleman, in the event—I hope the improbable event—of the House assenting to a Saturday Sitting, what is the business he proposes to take?

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

I will not follow the example of the right hon. Gentleman, but will say, in the probable event of a Sitting on Saturday, we propose to proceed with Supply.

MR. JAMES LOWTHER

Which class of Estimates?

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

That must depend upon what is done to-day.
