Does the hon. Member for Northampton move his Resolution on this subject?

NO, Sir. Perhaps I may be allowed to state that the Government are not prepared to agree to this Committee, and, therefore, I shall not be able to move it as an Unopposed Motion. As I understand, my right hon. Friend the Chief Commissioner of Works is of opinion that it would be desirable to have a discussion upon the matter in the House. Personally, I should think that something of a waste of time; but, in the circumstances, perhaps the best course open to me would be to raise the question by moving the reduction of my right hon. Friend's salary upon the first Vote on Account.
