HC Deb 07 March 1893 vol 9 cc1241-2
MR. WILLIAM WHITELAW

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture if he can state the number of home-bred cattle whose carcases were condemned on account of tuberculosis during last year?

MR. H. GARDNER

The condemnation of tuberculous carcases, on the ground that they are unfit for the food of man, takes place at the instance of the Medical Officer of Health or Inspector of Nuisances in conformity with the provisions of Sections 116 and 117 of the Public Health Act, 1875, and I possess no information with regard to the proceedings so taken.
