HC Deb 03 March 1893 vol 9 c954
MR. EGERTON ALLEN (Pembroke, &c.)

I beg to ask the Civil Lord of the Admiralty if, looking at the size and importance of the Pembroke Dockyard, he can hold out any hope that the number of apprentices to be entered this year will be raised from the small number which have been entered during the last few years to about the number of 20, which was the number which ruled before the reduction?

THE CIVIL LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. EDMUND ROBERTSON,) Dundee

I am happy to inform my hon. and learned Friend that it is proposed to enter 23 apprentices at Pembroke Yard during this year, as against seven in 1892 and six in 1891.
