HC Deb 02 March 1893 vol 9 c791
MR. MACARTNEY (Antrim, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether any steps have been taken by the Board of Guardians of Ballymena Union, in connection with the scheme adopted by a committee of that Board, for the erection of houses under the Labourers (Ireland) Acts in certain divisions of the Unions?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. J. MORLEY,) Newcastle-upon-Tyne

I am informed by the Local Government Board that on the 21st January last the Guardians had before them maps and particulars of the sites proposed for three blocks of labourers' cottages in the Union, and that the plans were approved of by the Guardians, who directed their solicitors to take the necessary steps with a view to the adoption of the proposed scheme.
