HC Deb 30 June 1893 vol 14 cc538-9
MR. ROSS (Londonderry)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what is the case of the continued delay in the re-construction of the Londonderry Barracks?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

No unnecessary delay has occurred. The site has been settled. The Treasury have approved the purchase of the necessary land, and the Local Military Authorities have been instructed to prepare building plans. Some time must, however, still elapse before tenders can be invited for the works.

MR. ROSS

Can the right hon. Gentleman say how long?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

I cannot.
