HC Deb 23 June 1893 vol 13 c1770
MR. W. REDMOND (Clare, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he, is aware that portions of the river leading to Scariff are dangerous to navigation because of boulders appearing near the surface, and that a boat sustained injuries some time ago because of the dangerous slate of the river; and whether some steps can be taken to remove the obstructions complained of and make the river safe for boats?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. J. MORLET,) Newcastle-upon-Tyne

The Board of Works have instructed their District Engineer to inquire into and report on this matter; but owing to other engagements be cannot do this for some days. Perhaps the hon. Member will be good enough to repeat the question in a fortnight.
