HC Deb 23 June 1893 vol 13 c1779
MR. FREEMAN-MITFORD (Warwickshire, Stratford)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he will take into consideration the disadvantage under which the town of Bidford, in Warwickshire, stands by having no telegraph office nearer than Broom Junction, a distance of nearly two miles; whether a promise was given by the Post Office that a telegraph office should be established at Bidford before the end of March last; and whether he will now give effect to that promise?

MR. A. MORLEY

The telegraphic extension was sanctioned and would have been carried out before this, but a proposal has been under consideration to include the village of Welford. This has now been sanctioned, and, subject to difficulties in connection with wayleaves being overcome, the work will be carried out without delay.
