HC Deb 16 June 1893 vol 13 cc1194-5
MAJOR RASCH (Essex, S.E.)

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether he is aware that on 15th June the temperature rose to 69 inside the House; and whether, by the obvious method of opening windows or otherwise, the atmosphere and temperature might be made more tolerable?

* THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. SHAW LEFEVRE,) Bradford, Central

I am aware that the temperature yesterday inside the House was high; but in the shade outside it was still higher. The state of the atmosphere in the House could not have been improved by any such measure as the opening of the windows.
