HC Deb 12 June 1893 vol 13 c780
SIR T. ESMONDE

In the absence of the hon. Member for North Leitrim, I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that Mr. James Faris, Clerk of the Peace for the County of Leitrim, neglected, at the last Presentment Sessions for the county at large, to enter a presentment for the printing of the Parliamentary Register of the county for the coming year; is there any rule in existence in Ireland requiring Clerks of the Peace to call for tenders for the printing of County Registers, and to leave the contracts open to public competition; and will he, in the interest of the cesspayers, be good enough to order an inquiry into the action of Mr. Faris in regard to the printing contract for the County Leitrim Parliamentary Register in this and previous years?

MR. J. MORLEY

I have not yet completed my inquiries in this matter, and would ask the hon. Member, therefore, to postpone the question for a couple of days.
