HC Deb 08 June 1893 vol 13 cc540-1
MR. W. REDMOND

I beg to ask the right hon. Gentleman the Prime Minister a question as to the state of Public Business. Will the right hon. Gentleman, considering the backward state of Public Business, move to suspend the Twelve O'clock Rule? [Cries of "Oh!"]

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

That question was put to me this morning, and I said that if we were to have a general suspension of the Twelve O'clock Rule, considering the pressure that is now brought to bear on hon. Members, it might be a necessary portion of the measure to provide an additional supply of undertakers for hon. Members who might be expected to fall victims.
