HC Deb 07 June 1893 vol 13 cc463-4

Order for Second Reading read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read a second time."—(Sir A. Rollit.)

* MR. GIBSON BOWLES

I object. I Know nothing about the Bill.

SIR A. ROLLIT

That is the hon. Member's misfortune. The Bill is brought in at the request of the Press, to which the hon. Member I believe belongs, or did belong. However, if the objection is to be persisted in, I recognise the impossibility of passing the Bill, and therefore I move that the Order be discharged and the Bill withdrawn.

Question, "That the Order for the Second Reading of the Bill be discharged and the Bill withdrawn," put, and agreed to.
