HC Deb 06 June 1893 vol 13 c315
MR. JEFFREYS (Hants,) Basingstoke

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he is aware of an error in the Report of Mr. W. E. Bear to the Royal Commission on Labour, where he writes in paragraph 60, on p. 86, with reference to the amount of invested capital of the Hampshire Friendly Society, that the capital at the end of the year amounted to £11,077 in the Assurance Branch, whereas the actual amount was £111,077 in 1891, and £115,949 in 1892 in the Assurance Branch in addition to the other invested capital; and what steps can be taken to correct this error?

* THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (Mr. H. GARDNER,) Essex, Saffron Walden

I believe that the facts are as stated in the first paragraph of the hon. Member's question, and that the figure given in Mr. Boar's Report is the result of a printer's error. I have communicated with the Royal Commission on Labour with regard to the matter, and I understand that the correction will be noted in some suitable portion of the printed proceedings of the Commission.
