HC Deb 05 June 1893 vol 13 c202
MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN (Birmingham, W.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government have now completed their inquiry into the Estimates on which the financial proposals of the Bill for the Government of Ireland have been based, especially with regard to the contribution from the Excise to the Irish Budget; and whether he can now fix a date when the amended proposals of the Government in regard to the financial relations between the two countries will be laid upon the Table?

MR. W. E. GLADSTONE

The inquiry to which my right hon. Friend's question refers has been rather minute, but it is now completed, and the Estimates will be laid upon the Table within the present week. The amended proposals of the Government in regard to finance will be presented immediately afterwards.
