CAMPBELL -BANNERMANI am not aware of the particular dilapidation referred to in the question, but I will at once inquire whether it is necessary to take steps for preventing further mischief to ornamental work on the Palace. As to rebuilding the towers at the Gateway, that would be a considerable undertaking, and I am not prepared at present to contemplate a large expenditure for the purpose.
