§ MR. A. C. MORTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the exhibition of boxing at the National Sporting Club on Monday last; and whether the police intend to take proceedings against all or any of the persons concerned?
§ MR. ASQUITHThe police cautioned the manager of the club and the principals that they would be held answerable for any disorder, or any illegal act, as is always done on such occasions. Nothing occurred to warrant the interference of the police; there was no disorder, nor, so far as the police are aware, any illegality. If evidence is forthcoming to show that the exhibition was of an illegal character, proceedings will, of course, be taken.
