HC Deb 26 July 1893 vol 15 c549
VISCOUNT CRANBORNE (Rochester)

I asked the Prime Minister yesterday the order in which the Education Votes would be taken, and he promised to reply to the question to-day. Perhaps the Secretary to the Treasury can tell us whether the English Vote or the Scotch Vote will be taken first?

THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Sir J. T. HIBBERT, Oldham)

The Scotch Vote will be taken first, and afterwards the English Vote.

MR. BARTLEY (Islington, N.)

Is it intended to go right through Class IV. on education, or simply to take the Elementary Vote?

SIR J. T. HIBBERT

Only the Elementary Vote?

SIR F. S. POWELL (Wigan)

When will the important Votes for Science and Art be taken?

SIR J. T. HIBBERT

I have no doubt due notice will be given.

VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

Is it proposed to take only the first Vote—not all?

SIR J. T. HIBBERT

I believe only the first Vote.
