HC Deb 26 July 1893 vol 15 c595

Bill considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

Clause 2.

* MR. GIBSON BOWLES (Lynn Regis)

wished to have some explanation of the Bill and the Amendments on the Paper.

* THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. J. B. BALFOUR, Clackmannan, &c.)

said, the Bill was not his, but was in charge of his hon. Friend opposite (Mr. Renshaw). It was a very proper Bill to give additional facilities for the erection of gas works by somewhat altering the conditions at present in force. The Amendments he had put on the Paper, after communication with the Board of Trade, were chiefly for the purpose of doing away with the necessity of sending a notice to the Board of Trade upon which nothing followed, and which was, therefore, useless.

Clause agreed to.

Bill reported; as amended, to be considered upon Friday, at Two of the clock.
