§ MR. LEON (Bucks, N.)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he is aware that, notwithstanding the opinion recently expressed by him as to the usefulness of a. Ladies' Committee, the Buckingham Board of Guardians, at their last meeting on the proposition of the Rev. J. Corr, Vicar of Foscott, abolished the Ladies' Committee; and whether, looking to this and other instances of the way in which Boards of Guardians perform their duties, he will use his best endeavours to push on his Parish and District Councils Bill?
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. H. H. FOWLER, Wolverhampton, E.)I have not been informed of the passing of a resolution such as that referred to in the question. If one were passed I should deeply regret it. No man in this House is more anxious than I am to see the Local Government Bill passed into law.
