§ MR. JEFFREYSasked that some explanation might be given of the Bill.
§ MR. COZENS-HARDY (Norfolk. N.)said, the Bill was intended to remove two blunders in the original Act, one of which prevented the recovery of a debt from a widow who had entered into engagements in respect of property of which she retained possession on widowhood.
§ MR. BARTLEYsaid, this Bill showed how necessary it was not to pass Bills through hurriedly and without adequate examination and discussion.
