HC Deb 19 July 1893 vol 15 c58

Bill considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

MR. JEFFREYS

asked that some explanation might be given of the Bill.

MR. COZENS-HARDY (Norfolk. N.)

said, the Bill was intended to remove two blunders in the original Act, one of which prevented the recovery of a debt from a widow who had entered into engagements in respect of property of which she retained possession on widowhood.

MR. BARTLEY

said, this Bill showed how necessary it was not to pass Bills through hurriedly and without adequate examination and discussion.

Bill reported; as amended, to be considered upon Wednesday next.
